Le modèle LR273 a été choisi pour ses grands angles d'orientation, sa capacité de levage supérieure et son poids optimisé pour faciliter l'installation, contribuant ainsi à la sécurité et à l'efficacité du chantier.

Avenue Building Corporation a déployé deux grues à flèche relevable Raimondi LR273 pour la construction de The United Bldg, un développement historique à Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
La copropriété de 55 étages, qui conserve des éléments du bâtiment de 1928 et de l’agrandissement de 1961, a gagné une place dans le secteur de la conservation historique, faisant de The United Bldg la plus grande rénovation patrimoniale en Amérique du Nord.
« Avenue Building Corporation ajoute une autre étape importante à notre portefeuille de sites en louant ces deux grues à flèche relevable Raimondi LR273 à EllisDon, entrepreneur du projet et leader international des services de construction », a déclaré Jim Patullo, président d'Avenue Building Corporation.
Installés entre décembre 2023 et janvier 2024, les deux releveurs de 18 t sont actuellement sur site à une hauteur de 60 et 54 m avec des longueurs de flèche respectivement de 45 et 50 m et une charge de pointe de 4,50 t.
Équipés d'un mécanisme de levage de 86 kW, les LR273 se lèvent à une vitesse maximale de 204 mètres par minute et ont une capacité de tambour de 980 m, offrant d'excellentes performances de levage.
« Grâce au projet préservant la façade existante de 10 étages ainsi que ses systèmes de rétention de structure en acier, 75 % de l'espace du chantier était déjà occupé. Nous avons soigneusement évalué les deux positionnements de la grue pour garantir une sécurité et une efficacité maximales sur le site », a-t-il expliqué.
Patullo ajoutant que le petit rayon hors service, 16 m et 17 m, et la facilité d'installation du LR273 grâce à l'optimisation du poids du modèle, étaient des caractéristiques clés prises en compte lors de la phase de planification du site.
Les grands angles de pivotement du LR273 permettent une plus grande couverture du site, associés aux performances supérieures de la machine en termes de capacité de levage, ont également joué un rôle important dans le déploiement de ce modèle à relevage spécifique.
« Être témoin de la participation de nos modèles sur un chantier aussi prestigieux met en évidence la fiabilité et les hautes performances de notre gamme de relevables, réaffirmant l'engagement de Raimondi à offrir l'excellence dans chaque produit que nous fabriquons. Situé le long de l’avenue University, à l’intersection du principal pôle culturel, institutionnel et commercial de Toronto, ce développement de grande hauteur à usage mixte comprendra des unités résidentielles et des espaces commerciaux modernes.

Avenue Building Corporation deployed two Raimondi LR273 luffing jib cranes for the construction of The United Bldg, a historic landmark development in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The 55-storey condominium, preserving elements from the 1928 building and the 1961 expansion, has earned a place in the historical conservation sector, making The United Bldg North America’s largest heritage retrofit.
“Avenue Building Corporation is adding another significant project milestone to our site portfolio by renting these two Raimondi LR273 luffing jib cranes to EllisDon, contractor of the project and international leader in construction services,” stated Jim Patullo, President, Avenue Building Corporation.
Installed between December 2023 and January 2024, the two 18t-luffers are currently onsite at a height of 60 and 54m with jib lengths of 45 and 50m respectively, and a tip load of 4.50t.
Equipped with an 86kW hoisting gear, the LR273s lift at a maximum speed of 204 meters per minute and have a drum capacity of 980m, boasting excellent lifting performance.
“With the project preserving the 10-storey existing facade, along with its structural steel retention systems, 75% of the jobsite space was already occupied. We carefully evaluated both of the crane positionings to ensure maximum site safety and efficiency,” he explained.
Patullo adding that the small out-of-service radius, 16m and 17m, and the ease of installation of the LR273 due to the model’s weight optimization, were key features considered during the site planning phase.
The wide swing angles of the LR273 allow for greater site coverage, coupled with the superior machine performances in terms of lifting capacity, also played a significant role in the deployment of this specific luffing model.

Located along University Avenue, at the intersection of Toronto’s primary cultural, institutional, and retail hub, the high-rise mixed-use development will include modern residential units and commercial spaces.

Er zijn twee 18t-luffers geïnstalleerd, met gieklengtes van 45 en 50 m, kiplasten van 4,50 ton, en zijn uitgerust met 86 kW hijswerktuigen voor superieure hefprestaties.

Patullo voegde eraan toe dat de kleine buitendienstradius, 16 en 17 meter, en het installatiegemak van de LR273 dankzij de gewichtsoptimalisatie van het model, belangrijke kenmerken waren waarmee rekening werd gehouden tijdens de planningsfase van de locatie.
De grote zwenkhoeken van de LR273 zorgen voor een groter terreinbereik, gekoppeld aan de superieure machineprestaties op het gebied van hefvermogen, en speelden ook een belangrijke rol bij de inzet van dit specifieke beweegbare model.
