Sous la propriété d'Andrew Reston, Reston Waste Management est devenue l'une des plus grandes sociétés indépendantes de gestion des déchets de construction du sud-ouest de Londres, avec un chiffre d'affaires de 27 millions de livres sterling l'année dernière et un bénéfice avant impôts de 3,7 millions de livres sterling.

Il a maintenant été racheté par Sortera, un nom introduit sur le marché britannique le mois dernier.

Sortera est une société suédoise qui a elle-même été rachetée par la société de capital-investissement Nordic Capital en 2021. Un an plus tard, elle est entrée au Royaume-Uni en acquérant O'Donovan Waste Disposal puis GBN Services en 2023. Le mois dernier, elle les a rebaptisés Sortera.

L'ajout de Reston Waste fait de Sortera la plus grande entreprise indépendante de déchets de construction du Grand Londres, indique-t-il. L’acquisition est stratégiquement importante car elle étend la présence de Sortera dans le sud-ouest de Londres.

Under the ownership of Andrew Reston, Reston Waste Management grew to be one of the largest independent construction waste companies in southwest London, turning over £27m last year and delivering a £3.7m pre-tax profit.

It has now been bought by Sortera, a name only introduced to the UK market last month.

Sortera is a Swedish company that was itself acquired by private equity firm Nordic Capital in 2021. A year later it entered the UK by acquiring O’Donovan Waste Disposal and then GBN Services in 2023. Last month it rebranded them both as Sortera.

The addition of Reston Waste makes Sortera the largest independent construction waste company across Greater London, it says. The acquisition is strategically important as it extends Sortera’s footprint into southwest London.

“We are delighted to welcome the Reston team to our growing Sortera family here in London,” said Mark McCleery, managing director of Sortera’s UK operations. “Reston is a very impressive company with an offering centred on customers and sustainability.  This is very much aligned with the Sortera way of working. Onder eigendom van Andrew Reston groeide Reston Waste Management uit tot een van de grootste onafhankelijke bouwafvalbedrijven in het zuidwesten van Londen, met een omzet van £27 miljoen vorig jaar en een winst vóór belastingen van £3,7 miljoen.

Het is nu gekocht door Sortera, een naam die pas vorige maand op de Britse markt werd geïntroduceerd.

Sortera is een Zweeds bedrijf dat zelf in 2021 werd overgenomen door private-equityfirma Nordic Capital. Een jaar later betrad het het Verenigd Koninkrijk door O’Donovan Waste Disposal en vervolgens GBN Services in 2023 over te nemen. Vorige maand werd het omgedoopt tot Sortera.

Door de toevoeging van Reston Waste is Sortera het grootste onafhankelijke bouwafvalbedrijf in Groot-Londen. De overname is van strategisch belang omdat Sortera’s aanwezigheid zich uitbreidt naar het zuidwesten van Londen.
