L'Arabie saoudite pourrait devenir le plus grand marché de la construction au monde, car le royaume investit d'énormes sommes d'argent dans des projets visant à restructurer et à diversifier son économie, selon un rapport du groupe de conseil immobilier Knight Frank.

Dans son rapport Construction Landscape Review H1 2024, la société basée au Royaume-Uni prévoit que la valeur totale de la production de construction en Arabie Saoudite atteindra 181,5 milliards de dollars d’ici la fin de 2028.

Si ce chiffre est atteint, cela représenterait une augmentation de près de 30 % par rapport aux niveaux de 2023, lorsque la valeur de la production du secteur a atteint 141,5 milliards de dollars.

Cette croissance doit provenir de la volonté de mettre en œuvre le plan Vision 2030, qui vise à transformer l’économie du pays et à réduire sa dépendance à l’égard de l’argent du pétrole.

L’Arabie saoudite possède certains des plus grands projets de construction au monde, comme NEOM. Cependant, certains de ces projets ont été récemment réduits.

« Nous assistons actuellement à une transformation historique en Arabie Saoudite avec des projets de construction se distinguant par leur ampleur et leur valeur », a déclaré Mohamed Nabil, partenaire régional et responsable des services de projets et de développement pour le Moyen-Orient et l'Afrique du Nord chez Knight Frank.

Rien qu’en 2023, plus de 140 milliards de dollars de contrats de construction ont été attribués. La majorité se trouvait à Riyad, où l’Arabie saoudite ambitionne de porter sa population à dix millions d’habitants d’ici 2030.

La capitale est devenue un point focal majeur alors que le royaume se prépare à accueillir l'Exposition universelle en 2030 et la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA en 2034.

Saudi Arabia is could become the world’s largest construction market as the kingdom pours vast amounts of money into projects aimed at overhauling and diversifying its economy, according to a report from real estate consultancy group Knight Frank.

In its Construction Landscape Review H1 2024 report, the UK-based firm projected that Saudi Arabia’s total construction output value will reach $181.5 billion by the end of 2028.

If this figure is achieved it would be an increase of almost 30% from 2023 levels when the output value for the sector reached $141.5 billion.

This growth is to come from the desire to execute the Vision 2030 plan, which looks to transform the country’s economy and reduce dependence on money from oil.

Saudi Arabia has some of the world’s biggest construction projects, such as NEOM. However, some of these projects have been scaled back recently.

“We are currently witnessing a historical transformation unfolding in Saudi Arabia with construction projects standing out in their design scale and value,” said Mohamed Nabil, regional partner and head of project and development services for the Middle East and North Africa at Knight Frank.

Since the Vision 2030 initiative was introduced eight years ago, Saudi Arabia has launched projects with a value of more than $1.25 trillion, according to Knight Frank’s research.

In 2023 alone, more than $140 billion of construction contract awards were granted. The majority were in Riyadh, where Saudi Arabia aims to grow its population to ten million by 2030.

The capital city has become a major focal point as the kingdom prepares to host the World Expo in 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034.

Saoedi-Arabië zou de grootste bouwmarkt ter wereld kunnen worden nu het koninkrijk enorme hoeveelheden geld steekt in projecten die gericht zijn op het herzien en diversifiëren van zijn economie, volgens een rapport van vastgoedadviesgroep Knight Frank.

In zijn Construction Landscape Review H1 2024-rapport voorspelde het Britse bedrijf dat de totale bouwproductiewaarde van Saoedi-Arabië tegen eind 2028 $181,5 miljard zal bereiken.

Als dit cijfer wordt bereikt, zou dit een stijging van bijna 30% betekenen ten opzichte van het niveau van 2023, toen de outputwaarde voor de sector 141,5 miljard dollar bereikte.

Deze groei moet voortkomen uit de wens om het Vision 2030-plan uit te voeren, dat erop gericht is de economie van het land te transformeren en de afhankelijkheid van geld uit olie te verminderen.
