Sandvik a signé un accord pour acquérir Universal Field Robots (UFR), une société basée en Australie qui propose des solutions autonomes interopérables pour les marchés de l'exploitation minière à ciel ouvert et de l'exploitation minière souterraine.

Les solutions d'UFR sont basées sur une plateforme d'autonomie commune. Elle comprend des solutions robotiques et autonomes pour les camions, les chargeurs et les équipements auxiliaires, et est censée être compatible avec les équipements de différents fabricants.

En intégrant les capacités d'UFR, Sandvik souligne que la plateforme AutoMine pourra fonctionner avec une gamme plus large d'équipements tiers, offrant aux utilisateurs plus de flexibilité pour optimiser les performances de leurs flottes d'équipements miniers, quel que soit le fabricant.

« Universal Field Robots est un ajout stratégique important à Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, qui renforcera notre potentiel de croissance et fournira des capacités clés dans le développement de notre portefeuille de solutions d'automatisation minière à l'avenir », déclare Stefan Widing, président-directeur général de Sandvik.

Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire Universal Field Robots (UFR), an Australia-based company that offers autonomous interoperable solutions for surface mining and underground mining markets.

UFR’s solutions are based on a common autonomy platform. It includes robotic and autonomous solutions for trucks, loaders, and auxiliary equipment, and is said to be compatible with equipment from different manufacturers.

By integrating UFR’s capabilities, Sandvik highlights that the AutoMine platform will be able to work with a wider range of third-party equipment, giving users more flexibility to optimise the performance of their mining equipment fleets, regardless of the manufacturer.

“Universal Field Robots is an important strategic addition to Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, which will strengthen our growth potential and provide key capabilities in the development of our mining automation solutions portfolio going forward,” says Stefan Widing, president and CEO of Sandvik.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2024.

Sandvik heeft een overeenkomst getekend om Universal Field Robots (UFR) over te nemen, een in Australië gevestigd bedrijf dat autonome interoperabele oplossingen biedt voor de markten voor oppervlaktemijnbouw en ondergrondse mijnbouw.

De oplossingen van UFR zijn gebaseerd op een gemeenschappelijk autonomieplatform. Het omvat robot- en autonome oplossingen voor vrachtwagens, laders en hulpapparatuur en zou compatibel zijn met apparatuur van verschillende fabrikanten.

Door de mogelijkheden van UFR te integreren, benadrukt Sandvik dat het AutoMine-platform kan werken met een breder scala aan apparatuur van derden, waardoor gebruikers meer flexibiliteit krijgen om de prestaties van hun mijnbouwapparatuurvloten te optimaliseren, ongeacht de fabrikant.

De partijen zijn overeengekomen de aankoopprijs niet bekend te maken. De transactie zal naar verwachting in het vierde kwartaal van 2024 worden afgerond.
