Epiroc a accepté d'acquérir la part restante d'ASI Mining, une société américaine de solutions minières autonomes.

L'équipementier suédois possède déjà 34 % d'ASI Mining, qu'il a acquis en 2018. L'acquisition concerne les 66 % restants de l'entreprise.

ASI Mining est basée à Mendon, dans l'Utah, aux États-Unis. La société, filiale d'Autonomous Solutions, est un fournisseur de systèmes d'automatisation minière, tels que des solutions de contrôle à distance, de téléopération et entièrement autonomes.

Ses solutions sont indépendantes des constructeurs OEM, ce qui signifie qu'elles fonctionnent quelle que soit la marque de la machine et s'adaptent bien aux flottes mixtes.

Les solutions contribuent à renforcer la sécurité et la productivité des mines tout en réduisant les émissions et le coût total d'exploitation. ASI Mining a réalisé un chiffre d'affaires d'environ 300 MSEK (28 millions de dollars) en 2023.

« Epiroc et l'équipe innovante d'ASI Mining collaborent déjà étroitement pour proposer les solutions d'automatisation les plus avancées aux clients miniers », a déclaré Helena Hedblom, présidente et directrice générale d'Epiroc.

« Nous sommes impatients de compléter pleinement leurs solutions avec notre offre et de continuer ensemble à accompagner nos clients dans leur parcours d'automatisation. »

L'acquisition de la part restante nécessite l'approbation des autorités américaines de la concurrence et devrait être finalisée au troisième trimestre 2024. Les parties ont convenu de ne pas divulguer le prix d'achat.

Epiroc has agreed to acquire the remaining share of ASI Mining, a US-based autonomous mining solutions company.

The Sweden-based OEM already owns 34% of ASI Mining, which it acquired in 2018. The acquisition regards the remaining 66% of the company.

ASI Mining is based in Mendon, Utah, US. The company, a subsidiary of Autonomous Solutions, is a provider of mining automation systems, such as remote control, teleoperation, and fully autonomous solutions.

Its solutions are OEM agnostic, meaning they work regardless of machine brand and fit well for mixed fleets.

The solutions help to strengthen mine safety and productivity while lowering emissions and total cost of operation. ASI Mining had revenues of about MSEK 300 (US$28 million) in 2023.

“Epiroc and the innovative team at ASI Mining are already collaborating closely to bring the most advanced automation solutions to mining customers,” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.

“We look forward to complementing their solutions fully with our offering and together continue supporting customers on their automation journey.”

The acquisition of the remaining share requires regulatory approval from US competition authorities, and is expected to be completed in the third quarter 2024. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Epiroc heeft ingestemd met de overname van het resterende aandeel van ASI Mining, een in de VS gevestigd autonoom bedrijf voor mijnbouwoplossingen.

De in Zweden gevestigde OEM bezit al 34% van ASI Mining, dat het in 2018 verwierf. De overname betreft de resterende 66% van het bedrijf.

ASI Mining is gevestigd in Mendon, Utah, VS. Het bedrijf, een dochteronderneming van Autonomous Solutions, is een leverancier van mijnbouwautomatiseringssystemen, zoals afstandsbediening, teleoperatie en volledig autonome oplossingen.

De oplossingen zijn OEM-onafhankelijk, wat betekent dat ze ongeacht het machinemerk werken en goed geschikt zijn voor gemengde wagenparken.

De oplossingen helpen de mijnveiligheid en productiviteit te verbeteren en tegelijkertijd de emissies en de totale exploitatiekosten te verlagen. ASI Mining had in 2023 een omzet van ongeveer 300 MSEK (28 miljoen dollar).
